would be advantageous in every respect for the Company, and contrasting the cumbrous and expensive machinery of reconstruction with the simple and convenient process of an Ordinance, the Directors urge upon His Excellency's consideration their application for a bill in the definite lines laid down in the report of the Select Committee and adopted by Sir Michael Hicks-Beach's Bill, withdrawing the present Bill, and substituting another, if necessary, or, in the alternative, the Directors would ask His Excellency to submit their application to the Home Authorities with the view of its obtaining a favourable reception there and resulting in an enactment such as the Directors suggest.
